Romantic relationships can start in many different ways. Some bud as a result of a mutual friend's introduction. Others develop due to professional ties. Still others arise when destiny throws two people together by means of a chance encounter or a blind date. Sometimes, fate even gives folks a second chance.

As readers may have guessed by now, the two narrators in question are actually talk show host, Stephen Colbert, and his actress wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert. The couple were eventually married in 1993 and are the proud parents of two sons and a daughter.
